About Us
Creating Leaders with Integrity and Knowledge
Established in September 1979 by the Anglican Diocese on the Niger under The Rt. Rev. Jonathan A. Onyemelukwe, Bishop Crowther Junior Seminary began classes on 21 September 1979. In 1996, the institution was renamed Bishop Crowther Seminary by the Rt. Rev. Maxwell S. Anikwenwa and has since expanded to serve both primary and secondary school students.
Under the dynamic leadership of Ven Dr. N.B. Emendu, the seminary has experienced significant growth and has positively impacted various aspects of human endeavor. It has gained international recognition, with an active Old Boys Association in Europe, North America, and Asia.
The seminary's reputation has evolved, making it a household name across all geopolitical zones in Nigeria and beyond. As an Igbo adage says, "A new broom sweeps very fast, but an old one knows the corners." The current leadership knows these corners well, ensuring the institution's rise and shining legacy.
